U. S. Intellectual Property Law

This course presents a general overview of U.S. intellectual property law.  It will begin with an analysis of the competing policies underlying the intellectual property laws.   The course covers the basics of copyright, patent, trademark, and trade secrets law, and will explore current controversies in intellectual property law, including patent protection for software and business methods and the role and difficulties of protecting trademarks on the Internet.
